TwinSpark Racing: Porsche Parts for every occasion

So far, 2010 has been a very interesting year of Porsche fun for all of us connected with TwinSpark Racing. Leonard and Lex have been preparing and racing their company cars, I’ve been zooming all over the UK, Europe and the USA writing articles for Porsche and other car magazines, and we’ve come together to enjoy some incredible events, such as the recent Bergmeister Tour, and Classic Le Mans.

When it comes to enjoying the Porsche 911 with like-minded enthusiasts, there are many routes to choose from. TwinSpark Racing covers them all, in both parts and participation!

We began the year with the Winter Trial, our annual rally experience in the snow and ice. If circuit racing is not your thing, perhaps rallying is for you. Next year’s event will run from January 23 to 28, 2011, so you have some time to consider it. After the Winter Trial, preparations began for our participation in the State of Art Historic Cup, a classic circuit racing series that is exciting and competitive, yet does not devour every weekend during racing season. We still have time for must-do road trips!

In March, TwinSpark exhibited for the first time at the Essen Techno Classica. Fans of the 911 visited us from far and wide: the UK, the USA and all over Europe. Many overseas visitors drove to the show in a 911 (me, for example). Later that month, as the stage was being set for 2010’s opening track event at Zandoort, we flew to South America, to investigate the possibility of an endurance rally out there. Could happen: watch this space.

Plans for the Bergmeister Tour were ongoing when we enjoyed our first circuit racing event of the year. Our follow-up track day at Spa was a huge success, with Porsche guys coming from as far away as Australia to attend.

Yesterday was the annual drive from Amsterdam to the Nürburgring, to visit the Oldtimer GP. The story of Leonard’s visit will be told by the man himself later in the week. There is no doubting the commitment of the 911 guys who will get up at the crack of dawn and embark upon a return day trip of over 800 kilometres, just to see who has brought their racing cars to Germany, all the while knowing that traffic and rain will form a major part of the day!

Through it all is the wonderful 911: evergreen foundation for our friendships, and the enjoyment of which is at the heart of our congregation. Alongside the classic 911 is TwinSpark Racing! Be it circuit racing, rallying, road trips, track days, Porsche exhibitions or just adding fun new events to the calendar, we’re with you, no matter what you want to try.
