Classic Porsches could only manage two of the top ten spots in the 2011 Boucles de Spa. Stefan Stouf in a Mk 1 Escort (car 182) repeated his RAC win of a few months ago, Waldegard was second in a Mk 2 Ford (#161), while third place went to Patrick Snijers in his ’82-chassis’d Porsche 911 SC RS (#162).

Eight-time winner Snijers, was initially held up due to alternator problems and getting stuck behind a pair of Opels on the first pass through Creppe. “If I’d been given details of the rankings, I might have put in a stronger attack,” said Snijers afterwards. “It seems I was fastest on the RTs, but I was beaten due to the younger age of my car (1982, versus 1975 and 1976). I obviously had not taken into consideration the corrective coefficients regarding the [...]

Yesterday the Dutch Post-Historic Championship Overall Results were announced. TwinSpark Racing’s Leonard Stolk and Lex Proper finished the 6 race championship in 2nd and 4th overall out of 33 cars in the 1965-1981 period class. Overall champion is Marcel Frijlink in his ZakSpeed Ford Escort, having won every one of the 6 races with a clear lead. We had the satisfaction of finishing ahead of everybody else who we could beat at the level of car speed.

We had certainty about the class win already, but obviously it was very exciting to find out we had done so well overall. The secret has been consistent results and finishing every race. We have a lot of work to do over the winter to finish the preparation of the Hulk and the 2,5 liter S/T “Bloody Mary”.

We were very privileged at Classic Le Mans to be invited to take part in the Porsche Parade lap, celebrating 40 years since the 917 first won here, in the capable hands of Richard Attwood.

TwinSpark Racing’s cheeky little 3.0 RSR renegade (Woodstock) was lined up with a bundle of other road and race cars, to do a pair of laps of the full 24-hour circuit. It was terrific to be in the company of so much cracking historic machinery, as well as many of Porsche’s latest track tools.

The video opens with us pulling out of the assembly area onto the main start/finish straight. Around us you can see quite a few 911s: 2.7 RS and 964 RS to the rear, ST up in front. Lots of 356s, and the 904 and 906 ahead.

Porsche were filming the start of the lap from a company Cayenne, with a GT1 and a gaggle Group [...]
