- Comments Off on WEVO Porsche Parts: not just for Racing
It’s a common misconception that the range of WEVO Porsche Parts are built for racing cars. The truth is, they’re suitable for all Porsches, whether road, race or rally.
The original Porsche designers were working to a draft of simplicity, for both weight and cost. Though Porsche are a prestige manufacturer, they have always manufactured in volume, so anything saved on the cost of one part is multiplied by many thousands at the end of the financial year.
This is how budgetary constraints lead manufacturers to hold back on component optimisation, as time or money spent on fine tuning all adds to cost. When non-optimum components are fitted in production, a properly designed aftermarket part, particularly something that plays an integral part in the driving experience can often enhance the driving and ownership experience many times over, the reward far exceeding the actual purchase [...]

- Comments Off on The WEVO difference
Many of us started as the ‘mustn’t touch’ type of Porsche owner, who doesn’t change anything on the car without approval by the manufacturer. ‘Mustn’t touch’ types instead spend their spare cash on espresso cup sets featuring the 908 and 917 in various poses, or ceramic brake cuff links. Don’t look at me like that: we’ve all bought that stuff.
After a time, ‘mustn’t touchers’ begin to realise that coffee cups and cuff links have nothing to do with getting maximum return from a 911. They question the driving experience their car is providing. They want more involvement, more dynamism. They start looking at aftermarket products to sharpen up their sports car.
From here, there are many options. At first glance, the main differentiators seem to be cost and quality, but there’s more to it than that.
So much of the Porsche tuning stuff you [...]

- Comments Off on WEVO Tall Boy Shifter goes into production!
Last week we received authorization to publicly show WEVO’s latest exciting product: the Tall Boy shifter for Porsche 915 transmissions.
Having driven the Tall Boy in my rally car, I am now seriously hooked on this wonderful piece of kit. Driving with a standard, unsprung shifter today was such a weird sensation and not one I enjoy any more… This specific example bears the signatures of Gijs Van Lennep, our patron, and Hans Hermann 1970 overall Le Mans winner in a 917K.
The Tall Boy appeals to all sorts of classic 911 drivers and allows for endless modifications of its appearance. The epoxy outer skeleton can be painted or covered in leather and there are several very attractive shift knobs available, as they are for the “normal” WEVO shifters. We particularly like the SL Knob. Its drilled through appearance matches perfectly with the aura a lightweight classic 911 should have! http://twinsparkracing.com/slshfknb.html
