Heard an interesting factoid from Mark at EB Motorsport last night. Catching up after the team’s weekend of FIA racing at Zandvoort, it seems almost half of this year’s Safari Rally entries could be running EB Motorsport parts.
“We’ve got parts on all of the Tuthill Porsche cars, four cars built by Bernard Munster for Safari and a few more. These guys know how strong and light our composite panels are, so they’ve stopped going elsewhere. We’re delighted with progress, given our relative newcomer status in the Porsche world. Our Porsche MFI parts range is also increasing, so good interest there from European and Australian customers.’
EB Motorsport’s latest product for the classic Porsche 911 is an MFI Fuel Pump Support Arm Kit. Retailing at £380, it includes a beautifully anodised oil take-off block, through bolt, copper washers and perfectly plated support bracket, finished in the right colour.
“Just like EB Motorsport Porsche panels, slide throttles, forged Fuchs replicas and most of the rest of our range, we started making the pump arms as all we could buy were parts that didn’t fit, or had the wrong colour plating: irritating stuff caused by a lack of attention to detail,”says Mark. “We’ve had the EB pump arm kits on our race cars for months, so we know they look right, fit right and work right. We’re happy for them to go on sale.”
EB’s prodigious Porsche parts output includes the recently-released lightweight Cayman tailgate developed with SVP Porsche, and FIA-spec 911 Almeras arch and bumper kits, as used by Tuthill and others. “We’re always open to collaborate on parts not yet in our portfolio,” Mark assures.
