Techno Classica 2010 was our first trade show where we exhibited TwinSpark Racing’s collection of parts for vintage Porsches. It was a very positive experience in that we got to meet some of you in person and could discuss the quality of our parts. Particularly our Zuffenhaus RSR Brakes were a client magnet. These brakes are a true to form replica of the original ones used on the 2.8 RSR, but have proven 930 brake internals (www.twinsparkracing.com).
We were joined by our partners from Zuffenhaus Products (www.zuffenhaus.eu), Keith Walters, Bob Aines and Aaron Winans, who had a first-hand opportunity to interact with the European clients visiting our booth. In a way the event turned into an R Gruppe reunion during the evening hours, as we were joined by John Glynn (www.johndglynn.com) and Vasco Ricardo (Portugal) for a meal or two. The overall impression was that the number of Porsche specialist stands were down from last year, yet the stands that were there were bigger. We heard very few car traders express enthusiasm over the number of sales they made and it sounded like clients were still holding tightly onto their wallets. Original cars with history had no issues finding new owners though and people were certainly actively gathering accessories and parts.
We showed the new WEVO product Tall Boy, a tower shifter which inherited all the excellent properties of the well known precision shifters of this brand. Feedback was positive and the visitors thought it was another cool product in a long line of cool products by WEVO! Having a video running in which I demonstrate the use of the prototype in Silverado added to the experience. This product will be launched in June.
