100 Liter Fuel Tanks were used in Porsche 911 factory and amateur race or rally cars depending on the race distance. Fender fill tanks were typically used for rally cars, which did not require rapid refueling. Center fill tanks were used for race cars in circuit races that required faster refueling. 100 Liter Metal Fuel Tanks were installed into the 911 R, 911 T/R and 911 ST vehicles.

While early race tanks were made of steel, plastic fuel tanks became available in 1972. However, many Porsche owners prefer the durability and safety of a metal tank. Plastic tanks are prone to leakage and the underside is exposed to damage from road debris. In addition, there is additional work involved to add metal strapping and brackets to secure a plastic tank. Our metal tank is installed using the existing factory hold down brackets in the existing positions. No additional holes to drill. This upgrade is simple, practical and completely reversible if needed.

Used original 100 Liter Metal Fuel Tanks are rare and very expensive. When available, they typically need rust and dent repairs. Our 100 Liter Metal Fuel Tank is brand new with proper internal sealing and protective external paint to ensure long life.

Modern racing fuel cells offer an alternative, but they are more expensive and require additional modifications for fuel filling and installation. Many find its boxy appearance more appropriate for a stripped down race car. Our tank installs straight away using existing factory brackets.
