The TwinSpark Racing team is proud of its customers, and is always eager to support them in fulfilling their dreams. Through the TwinSpark Blog we are going to present you stories about our clients around the world.

The first client we would like to present to you is Marco Leijten, an R Gruppe member in The Netherlands and a proud early Porsche fan. Marco and Leonard, our MD, go back all the way to Leonard’s Early Porsche 911&912 Club Netherlands days. Even back to the first trip that Leonard took to the Moselle Valley with the 1971 car we now call Silverado. And I was folded in the back!

Marco’s car is a Conda Green 1970 911 S which badly needed restoration. He has decided to follow a path we much recommend: modify the early car but in a way that the factory would have or could have done. That’s how you end up with a great, valuable early sports purpose 911. TwinSpark Racing has been able to supply a great number of the body parts for Marco’s exciting project. Read all about Marco’s ST below.

Which Porsche is your Passion?

1970 911S Group 4 2.3 (a.k.a 911ST). For example “La Bomba Verda”  (car ordered and owned by Portugese rally driver Americo Nunes).

What do you do to enjoy your car?
At the moment, I’m rebuilding the car. But once that is finished, I’ll be driving it as much as possible! No better feeling than that strong flat 6 pushing you forward, wherever you want it to go.

What have you modified to create a sports purpose Porsche?
I mainly added lightness  😉   But seriously, I follow the historic FIA Group 4 rules and thus the 1970 911S homologation. So, GFK front fenders, bonnet, front and rear bumper. Aluminum engine deck lid. 9J Minilites rear, 7J Fuchs at front. Original 380mm 914GT steering wheel. Underseal protection was scrapped off, and is not coming back. Cut away battery boxes (that was retrospectively homologated to improve cooling of the brakes).

Which parts have you purchased from us and why?
All the GFK panels, because you understood what I was aiming at and for a fair price.

The benefit of the various body panel Marco bought into was their true to origin shape and bolt on pick up points to mount them onto the body like the metal parts. Front wings need modification to the front line of the door panel, because no early 911 is exactly the same everywhere….

We want to show the Porsche community what our clients are working on, if you think you have a great build on the go and we have helped you do it, let us know! We would gladly present your car on our blog. Just send an email to info@twinsparkracing.com and use the subject “The Passion”.
