TwinSpark Track Day 2011 at Spa Francorchamps

Arrangements are coming together nicely for the 2011 TwinSpark Racing track day at Spa Francorchamps on October 10th.

Organised in association with Gold Track in the UK, we now have over 20 Porsche 911s booked on our day, with more joining all the time. Surprisingly, very few 911s from the Netherlands so far and, given that over 50% of the last TwinSpark track day was made up on European 911 drivers, this must indicate a lack of awareness.

Where are you, NL? Share the information in your networks and let’s get more cars on track! To book for this event, which costs £249 per driver for the day, simply email john@twinsparkracing.com and I will send you a code which you can use to book via Gold Track’s website.

Not included are garages at Spa and hotel accommodation. I am working on those details. Garages at Spa hold four cars and cost around £70 a day paid to the circuit so it is a little involved to figure it out. We will have a garage which you can leave bags in to get weight out of the car, so feel free to use that space for storage and just park in the paddock.

Anyone who has not been on a track day needn’t worry. This is a fun day: no stress and no racing experts. Anyone attempting to make it difficult on the day will be sent home!

Driving on track is all about common sense: build your speed and confidence up slowly and just enjoy the freedom of circuit driving to really enjoy your car. You can brake where suits you: you don’t have to be the last of the late brakers to have fun here.

Tuition can be booked through Gold Track to give some pointers: this is a good idea. Let them know you are new to circuits and all will be well. Otherwise, just take things at your own pace, do as they will have told you in the briefings and it’ll be fine. Any problems drop me an email: I will put a more comprehensive guide together before the event.
