Last weekend started with an open pit lane training day where we could scrub the tires in. You may remember we did a lot of work to our 1974 RSR The Hulk over the winter, so I was anxious to know how it all played out… Just lapping at an easy pace (at least that’s how it felt) I was already doing race pace laps of last year! Clearly the car had been transformed by Lex Proper, our TwinSpark partner RSR guru.

I called it quits after one session as the car handled just right and I wanted to save the tires for lap time that really mattered.

The changes implemented on the car were:
Fine tuning the MFI pump settings on the rolling road.
New, stiffer, adjustable sway bars or “stabi’s” as we call them, in original lightweight RSR [...]

Birthday congratulations to Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, who is 70 years old on Friday. A popular member of the global Porsche community, Ferry’s youngest son has some great Porsche friends around the world – I’ve seen his signature on many a 911 bonnet.

Wolfgang Porsche 70 4

Wolfgang was born on the 10 May 1943, at the family estate in Zell am See. The family returned to Stuttgart in 1950, where Wolfgang attended the Waldorf School. Graduating from Heppenheim’s Odenwald School in 1965, Wolfgang initially served an apprenticeship before studying Business Administration at the University of Economics in Vienna, where he received a Doctorate of Commercial Science in 1973.

This was the year after Ferry’s decision to remove the third generation of Porsches from day-to-day company management. Wolfgang became the importer of Yamaha motorcycles into Austria, a business he ran for 27 years. In 1976, he [...]

Our Dutch GT and Touring Car Championship is kicking off next weekend with three races at Zandvoort. To get ready for the season quite a few upgrades were required. The exciting ones were adjustable RSR stabilizer bars we sourced from a new found friend for twinsparkracing.com. Just very nice detail, reproduced from original factory parts. We just had to try them ourselves!

Lex had the Hulk on the rolling road at Beek Auto Racing in The Hague last week and managed to fine tune the injection pump to achieve much more lower rev torque, which will certainly make for faster lap times. Lex is one of the very few enthusiasts who can set up an RSR engine in the low lands and we have started to offer this service on the rolling road commercially. Contact us if you have the need.
