TwinSpark Racing: Flag Drops and Bullshit stops

TwinSpark Racing enjoyed a successful outing at the Zandvoort Historics last weekend: Leonard is just about to post the story of the event. As a long-time race fan, one of my favourite sayings is “when the flag drops, the bullshit stops.” How good it would be if all of life was the same.

How great would it be if companies were run like race championships: where the best people made it to the top, got the jobs they deserved and brought others with them to share in their success. Sad to say, one of life’s depressing realities is that many who wangle their way to higher office are simply incapable of doing their job effectively, thanks to their own incompetence, or the embedded incompetence in the offices they are forced to deal with.

What a joy it is then, to be a freelancer and out of the corporate loop, working with companies who do not have this mechanism. What a joy it is to email Leonard at TwinSpark, working in Canada for a week and already up to his ears in things to do out there and say “Leonard, I have found a UK forum thread which complains that the TwinSpark website is charging too much money for delivery. Potential customers are unhappy. The apparent issue is costing TwinSpark respect amongst fellow Porsche enthusiasts. Can you have a look?” What a joy it is to ask the question and know that, despite the time zone differences, I would get an answer within a few hours, showing that Leonard had understood and investigated the problem.

This is what I expected and this is what happened. I sent Leonard my concerns, he looked into them, found the problem and actioned the solution, which I relayed back to those interested.

Here is the nature of TwinSpark Racing, and the difference between this business and other road and race parts suppliers I have worked with in the past. You tell Leonard there is a problem, he fixes it. You tell him there is an opportunity, he investigates and acts on it. You suggest a great drive or a good event and *hey presto*, a few months later, we are doing the thing. This proactivity is a rare commodity in the modern world, and is the reason I like blogging for TwinSpark. It’s not something the business can communicate in its advertising without sounding like simpering imbeciles, but it is something I can highlight here.

“When the flag drops, the bullshit stops” is another way of saying that, when you buy something from TwinSpark Racing Porsche Parts, it’s been tested by TwinSpark and they know it works. But that is not enough. TwinSpark want you to use it and enjoy it like they use and enjoy their products. If you have any questions, I guarantee you can email Leonard and get an honest and frank response. See how many other forum threads feature supplier complaints or misunderstandings that are never addressed: simply not the TwinSpark way.

If you’re dealing with suppliers who don’t know that the flag has dropped and the BS should have stopped then, believe me, it’s time you were dealing with TwinSpark Racing.
