The cars of TwinSpark Racing were recently featured in Esses magazine, the publication of the US-based Early 911S Registry.
Written by our friend Alex Assink, the piece details the specification of two TwinSpark Racing Porsche 911s: the yellow RSR we know as Woodstock, and the Silver T rally car we call Silverado.
Alex has clearly done his research, as the article makes two important points:
- The author correctly assumes that Leonard has R Gruppe embroidered into his pyjamas.
- Their meet at Zandvoort is for coffee first, cars second. This is agreed company protocol.
Actually I am kidding, but that is the spirit of Alex’s article: humorous and easy-going, much like our company. A few things have changed since this was written, however.
The biggest change is that Leonard’s son Daan has returned to full-time education, so Lex Proper is now looking after the daily management of TwinSpark. That said, I’m looking forward to having Daan back with us at Essen Techno Classica, to share the TwinSpark Racing message.
Next, the Tall Boy prototype 911 shifter we could not allow Alex to photograph is closer to retail sale and has proved exceptional in testing on board Woodstock, as with all WEVO product.
Finally, Lex’s own ST is also much closer to being finished. That will be a hell of a car: we look forward to bringing you the full story when it is done.
Between the Zandvoort racing, Bergmeister Tour, Spa track day and road trip and Classic Le Mans, we spent most of last summer in the cars. Not many Porsche specialists clock up this level of enthusiast miles in a year, so we’re pretty proud of ourselves. One of our many challenges for 2011 is to keep up with regular use and visit some 911 places before it’s too late. All ideas gratefully received!
