Congratulations to Twinspark Racing customer, BMA/Bernard Munster Autosport, for their victory on the 2012 Rallye du Maroc Historique. This gruelling rally is a direct descendant of the famously tough Morocco International: a long-time car killer that drew entries from around the world, thanks to the epicness running through its veins.

Twinspark’s association with BMA goes back to our earliest days. The team is one of our approved garagiste dealers, and benefits from trade discounts on all of our parts. One interesting Twinspark-supplied product run on the BMA Porsche 911 rally cars for this event is the Porsche 911 gearbox/transmission cooling system. Developed by WEVO on the desert racetracks and endurance circuits of North America, this product has been tried and tested across harsh terrain and, like all of our parts, in our own cars also.

On Monday morning the hurd left Santa Cristina di Valgardena for Merano. The route would take us over a number of beautiful passes in the Val Gardena area. We drove a loop around the Marmolada mountain range. We had not counted with the amount of traffic generated by participants of the Maratona, a hiking event which ended the day before. So the first two hours were a bit slow and frustrating, but soon the roads cleared and the pace was back up.

The Dolomites may not be as high as the Western Alps, but they make up for that with dramatic rock formations and steep valleys. As the drizzle of the morning started to clear, blue skies formed the background to some stunning scenery, as you can see in Nick Taylor's photo, taken from Hamish Franklin's [...]

Last Sunday we returned from what will be lodged in my memory as the best road trip ever. 8 early 911s joined on a trip that started from The Netherlands and ripped through Germany on Saturday, with the finish in sweltering, but gorgeous Schwangau in Bavaria. In the shadow of the Cinderella castle.

The European R Gruppe, complemented by overseas invitees, fielded S/T, RS and RSR replicas…. And a stand in Kremer Turbo. Not your usual guest in our midst, but mechanical problems forced Gerd Rijper to bring this monster along.

The route covered a total of 4.300 km in 8 days. About half of those through mountainous terrain in the Alps and Dolomites. The objective of this Tour is to enjoy our early 911s to the full on the roads the first Porsches were taken to [...]
