Leonard has just put WEVO engine mounts into his 996 GT3 and is super impressed with the results.
“Mounts are finally in and what a difference it makes! The car feels like new, no wobbles in the back anymore and reduced vibrations, believe it or not!” says the TwinSpark frontman of his new equipment.
Factory engine mounts are a comfort-centric compromise that allow some engine and gearbox movement in spirited driving. This movement can lead to a lack of complete control, as the drivetrain shifts out of harmony with the chassis. It also places additional stress on the suspension, already working hard at controlling the car.

WEVO are famous for their gear shift levers and transmission upgrade parts for air cooled 911s, but the company also makes some interesting suspension parts. One such part is the WEVO E-Z Pin.
The WEVO E-Z Pin is designed to replace the 14mm bolt used on the inboard pivot of the 911 rear trailing arms. The 1972 911s do not have the dimpled torsion tube to allow the inboard bolt to be removed unless the transmission is removed from the chassis.
The E-Z Pin will fit the 1965-1989 Porsche 911, and can be installed with the transmission in the chassis, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of removing the transmission when performing rear suspension rebuilds or upgrades.

Jim Brezeale’s EASY Porsche spares operation in Emeryville, San Francisco is well known to local Porsche enthusiasts. Dealing exclusively in Porsche parts since 1978, a solid following has built up around EASY’s relaxed headquarters in San Francisco central; a base packed with used Porsche parts and a community who enjoy Jim’s take on Stuttgart’s finest and its place in life.
The regular R Gruppe meets at EASY on a Saturday morning are an institution. EASY is a place for hanging out, kicking tyres, swapping parts and stories and unveiling the latest hot creations from the members of the NorCal R Gruppe chapter.
