RGruppe Carrera PanEuropeana

Just had some pics through from Leonard and Daan, and a few words about the Carrera PanEuropeana they are on at the minute.

This RGruppe Europe event is a drive from the Netherlands down through Belgium and into Germany. The guys were staying close to the Nürburgring for two nights and today have headed back up towards Spa, for the end of the racing there, before coming home. Leonard speaks:

Weather is awesome, 11 cars good crowd. Jan de Boer (the so-called Bumpermeister) tapped the Armco in a hairpin, so bruised ego there, but car is still drivable. We will actually turn the piece of bumper he crashed off the left front into the rotating trophy!  Everybody more cautious and keeping distance to predecessor now thanks to Jan’s booboo.

The TwinSpark Racing ST with the RS engine – Silverado – is running strong with a couple of 3.2 engines finding it hard to keep up. I’m driving with Daan in his RGruppe navigation maiden event.

Road book by Noelle and Gerd Rijper is outstanding! The hotel is a nice resort in Hittesheim.

We saw the GT3 Hybrid race at the Ring yesterday afternoon in a 4-hour event. No idea about the results though. Crowds of spectators.

The GT3 R Hybrid in fact took its first race victory yesterday. With Patrick Long, Richard Lietz and Marco Holzer at the wheel, the Hybrid won round four of the Nürburgring Long Distance Championship. While almost all other direct opponents had to pit three times to refuel, the Hybrid-911 made only two stops and with this yielded the first victory for a Hybrid-Porsche.

Pretty cool thing to be present at in person! Hurray for TwinSpark Racing – not just pretty Porsche parts!
