Leonard Stolk is the 2011 Dutch Historic GT Touring Car Champion! Leonard sewed up the 2011 championship at the Nürburgring last weekend – he takes up the story:

We are just returning from the season finals of the Dutch GT /TC championships. Our final races were held at the legendary Nürburgring race track. There was a lot at stake for me this weekend,  because I only had a five-point lead on our friend Henk van Gammeren and his gorgeous black and gold Ford Escort. It meant that failling to finish in the points in one of the two races would have destroyed my chances for the championship.

Our little convoy left the Netherlands on Friday afternoon, with the Team Twinspark race transporter driven by Lex leading the charge. Four classic 911s were on board, with the Cayenne towing [...]

Leonard shares the story of Race Day 2 at the recent State of Art Grand Prix Classic. Went pretty well for us! Pics in this update by Soledad Cordova, Daan Stolk and Eric van Der Schaaf.

The morning session started with Gerd leaving the grid before the start with what he thought was a clutch problem due to the now fixed oil leakage from the pump. Rather, it turned out he had broken the left drive flange clean off the gearbox!

I had a lightning start for a change and tore the green RSR right to the 8.000 rev limit in first to clench 2nd position in the first turn, gaining a spot. The LONG gearbox I  use allows for advantage at the start on a short [...]

Another good day for Leonard in our Viper Green RSR: his second P3 finish of the weekend in the HARC Historic Racing at TT Assen Circuit.

Leonard describes the race as “no more tyres: a slippery game of chance in the high-speed corners.” I don’t have much else to report at the minute but will fill you in soon.

He’s sent me some interesting pics from the pre-race paddock and also two from the finish. That black and gold Escort looks like a useful tool.

I love this one on the car transporter, though I’m sure I won’t like the bill when it comes up at the next shareholders meeting. Boys and their (very big) toys!

Enjoy the pictures. We’ll post a debrief soon on how the cars went and, more importantly, how our TwinSpark Zuffenhaus Porsche 911 RSR brakes held up. Maybe [...]
