This is a big weekend for Twin Spark Racing, as we unleash our challenge on the 2010 State of Art Historic Zandvoort Trophy.

Many organisations in our field of performance parts supply include the words ‘Racing’ or ‘Motorsport’ in their business name. Yet their cars and the products they sell have never turned a wheel in anger at a competitive race event. This is where TwinSpark is different.

“When the flag drops, the bullshit stops”. So said diehard racer, Sir Jack Brabham. For real racing enthusiasts like our directors, Lex Proper and Leonard Stolk, it is more than a throwaway line in a press conference. It is a philosophy for business and, in some ways, for life.

Those who love to race know: competition hones our desire to succeed. Competition is what pushes us to test ourselves against similar minds and abilities, [...]

Techno Classica 2010 was our first trade show where we exhibited TwinSpark Racing’s collection of parts for vintage Porsches. It was a very positive experience in that we got to meet some of you in person and could discuss the quality of our parts. Particularly our Zuffenhaus RSR Brakes were a client magnet. We were joined by our partners from Zuffenhaus Products (www.zuffenhaus.eu), Keith Walters, Bob Aines and Aaron Winans, who had a first-hand opportunity to interact with the European clients visiting our booth. In a way the event turned into an R Gruppe reunion during the evening hours, as we were joined by John Glynn (www.johndglynn.com) and Vasco Ricardo (Portugal) for a meal or two. The overall impression was that the number of Porsche specialist stands were down from last [...]

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking Woodstock, our 1973 S/RSR out of the barn to pick up parts at our client Blankemeijer. The engine loosened up considerably over the course of the day and although I didn’t rev the new 3.0 RSR block too highly, it felt great. It was a rainy day, there is no heating in this car and I was wearing a woolen hat, gloves and thermal underwear to be able to put up with the temperatures… Thank God all that was enough to stay warm. The engine is relatively mild (as far as RSR engine can be…), as we have used S cams, but torque is already massive. In traffic on the Rotterdam ring road I stood on the throttle in 2nd and I fishtailed towards the next car!
