I’m currently in California, writing this on the porch at WEVO towers in beautiful San Francisco sunshine. Leonard is just about to arrive and pick up a 911 to take to Monterey. We’ll be spending the weekend down there at Rennsport Reunion.

Our track day on Monday at Spa was a big success. Twenty early Porsche 911s could be seen enjoying themselves on a dry, sunny afternoon at the legendary Belgian circuit. We had the passenger seat in The Hulk (above) and everyone who had a turn was awestruck by the speed of the car. That’s a WEVO shifter with SL shift knob in there by the way.

I hear the following day was wet and rainy, with many going home before midday: great to know we have had two days of super Spa sun in two years. Next year let’s maybe try somewhere new.

The general consensus at the minute seems a majority in favour of skipping Classic Le Mans in 2012 and doing something else instead. I am half and half but we’ll see what people think as the new year starts.

Bergmeister 2012 runs into the start of Le Mans Classique, so any R Gruppers doing all of that will run out of time to get to CLM. We could do a track day at Dijon after Bergmeister if that suited people. I’ve never been to Dijon but would love to drive it. Any thoughts? That’s what the comments box below is for.
