I’m currently working on media for Race4Change.org: a really exciting Porsche project. Race4Change.org is a Canadian microfinance organisation sending a million-dollar mission to this year’s East African Safari Classic Rally. The team is racing the Safari Rally to promote the economic empowerment of women in Africa. This week, we announced the first three drivers supporting the 2011 Race4Change campaign.

Leading the Race4Change team is Björn Waldegard, motorsport’s first-ever World Rally Champion and a five-time winner of this historic event: four times on Safari and once on Safari Classic. As with Waldegard’s first Classic Safari victory in 2007, Björn’s son Mathias will navigate.

With Björn will be X-Games legend and NASCAR superhero, Travis Pastrana. “Competing in [...]

We’ve just won our first race using the Zuffenhaus RSR brakes, now in stock and on sale through the TwinSpark Racing online store.

Driving our early 2.8 RSR on slick tyres, Lex Proper came home in front of Leonard Stolk to take a TwinSpark 1-2 finish in the GT/TC Historic Touring Car championship at Zandvoort.

Racing on our home circuit was fun. Though Leonard in the Hulk has the advantage of a 3.0 RSR engine on MFI, the genuine Porsche ’74 RSR calipers and the wider track of Hulk, Lex’s long-time race craft, the light yellow RSR and slick tyres gave an advantage that was played to full effect.

Winning with products we saw the potential of before they were ever built is a delight [...]

Another good day for Leonard in our Viper Green RSR: his second P3 finish of the weekend in the HARC Historic Racing at TT Assen Circuit.

Leonard describes the race as “no more tyres: a slippery game of chance in the high-speed corners.” I don’t have much else to report at the minute but will fill you in soon.

He’s sent me some interesting pics from the pre-race paddock and also two from the finish. That black and gold Escort looks like a useful tool.

I love this one on the car transporter, though I’m sure I won’t like the bill when it comes up at the next shareholders meeting. Boys and their (very big) toys!

Enjoy the pictures. We’ll post a debrief soon on how the cars went and, more importantly, how our TwinSpark Zuffenhaus Porsche 911 RSR brakes held up. Maybe [...]
