Here’s a terrific scrap between a pair of Porsche 911 RSRs during the recent Youngtimer Trophy at Zolder.
The cars are fighting for the lead. In front is the white Team Mittelmotor car of Charles Voggenreiter, chasing is the purple car of Dr. Edgar Althoff.
If you thought historic racing was a nice way to stretch the legs of a retired older 911, this video will put you straight. The drivers put their cars through hell: sliding, braking later than they dare, sliding, banging gears and almost but not quite banging door handles too.

Arrangements are coming together nicely for the 2011 TwinSpark Racing track day at Spa Francorchamps on October 10th.
Organised in association with Gold Track in the UK, we now have over 20 Porsche 911s booked on our day, with more joining all the time. Surprisingly, very few 911s from the Netherlands so far and, given that over 50% of the last TwinSpark track day was made up on European 911 drivers, this must indicate a lack of awareness.
Where are you, NL? Share the information in your networks and let’s get more cars on track! To book for this event, which costs £249 per driver for the day, simply email john@twinsparkracing.com and I will send you a code which you can use to book via Gold Track’s website.

Time for another Bergmeister retrospective! I love looking back at the pictures from this event, which saw TwinSpark Racing sponsor a mega road trip for ten classic Porsche 911s from the European R Gruppe tribe. We have so far driven from Amsterdam to Geneva to Briancon to Monaco: now we start day 4.
Having arrived in Monte Carlo the previous evening, day 4 saw us all set to enter the heart of the 2010 Bergmeister Tour: to drive classic Monte Carlo rally stages, following the genius RallyAtlas sat nav application (sadly now defunct).
Following a quick breakfast and some photos at the Cafe de Paris by day – in the famous Monaco Casino Square – we headed out of town. Our destination was Turini, [...]
