The above poster is the creative product of Pavel, our Czech photographer friend and the editing performed by our creative friend Vasco Ricardo from Portugal. Vasco is a graphics designer, heavily infected with the early 911 bug. The poster even has the pixel structure of large surface posters from the 70’s, the way the Factory issued them…
I met Vasco for the first time at R Gruppe Treffen three years ago, in San Luis Obispo. He had just completed a cross continental ride from New York, in the shotgun seat with his Irish friend Karl O’Donoghue. To say that Vasco was mesmerized by the sight and presence of so many gorgeous early 911s and their mad community of enthusiast-owners would be the understatement of the year!
We stayed in touch as Vasco joined R Gruppe and now was also part of our European Chapter. He has been flying the R Gruppe flag on the Iberian [...]

- Comments Off on Porsche 911 Carrera RS revisits the Col de Turini
Chaptermeister, business partner and all-round top man Leonard Stolk has just posted some in-car video, from a run up the Col de Turini earlier today.
Leonard is on a return leg of a drive to Cannes in Silverado, TwinSpark Racing’s 2.7 RS-engined rally car. He’s not had much luck finding snow on the roads – the pic above is in a field – but it still looks like he is having a good time. Here’s the video: brings back some happy 2010 memories!
I was supposed to do the trip to Cannes and back, but prior commitments meant I couldn’t hook up with him in Stuttgart on Tuesday night as we had originally planned. He soon found another victim (I mean passenger), and they are having big fun en route back to Amsterdam.

- Comments Off on Roger Albert Clark Rally: a 911-free zone
Today is the final day of the Roger Albert Clark rally in Yorkshire, UK. The weather has been very challenging, with 20+ cm snowfalls closing stages and even entire sections of the event. This is the worst weather in this area of Great Britain for late November/early December since 1993.
Normally, a 911 driver looks to the sky, sees the clouds forming and thinks ‘yes – today is a good day’. But here we are, four stages from the end of the rally and there is not one 911 in the top 20 runners. Fifteen of the top twenty are Ford Escorts! This is clearly unrepresentative of the relative strengths of the cars: further investigation is required.
Francis Tuthill, friend of TwinSpark Racing, is currently the leading 911 in 33rd position. Francis is running a Tuthill Challenge car, one of [...]
